Purnell is the official partner of France Football and the Ballon d’Or™.

Creation of Legends

Worldwide, over 4 billion avid fans live and breathe football. Each goal, miss, penalty, high, and low. It is more than a game ; it is a way of life. French magazine France Football established the Ballon d’Or™ award in 1956. The aim: crown living legends. Athletes who have defied odds and redefined the game through extraordinary performance.

In 2021, a prestigious association between Purnell and Ballon d’Or™ was born. This marked a new era for the Ballon d’Or™. For the first time, the male and female winners were each awarded a unique Ballon d’Or™ timepiece.

A unique Ballon d’Or™ for the winners

The tourbillon symbolizes the quest for perfection and the noble craftsmanship of haute horlogerie. In Purnell’s Ballon d’Or™ timepiece, the tourbillon’s extreme complexity is concealed playfully in a pared-down design, transcending technical feats and stages a true visual feast.

“Purnell stands for the best, for the ultimate in the watch industry and could only attach its name to the very best players, the Ballon d’Or™ winners.”

– Maurizio Mazzocchi, CEO of Purnell

“I think that Purnell and the Ballon d’Or™ share two essential values, which are very high standards of excellence and the taste for performance.”

– Pascal Ferré, Editor-in-Chief of France Football
